Saddle stitching is the most economical binding available. The pages are stapled together through the centre of the spine of folded sheets.
As this is the most economical method of binding it is therefore the most popular. Generally it can be used for books up to around 6mm thick.
Comb Binding is similar to spiral binding but using a round tubular plastic piece with many teeth which fit through small rectangular holes punched into the binding edge of the book. The plastic tube, if laid flat, would resemble a comb. This practical, low cost system is ideal for most general binding requirements.
